The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

Condition/Concern:

To help assure customer satisfaction on delivery of a Pontiac Solstice or Saturn Sky, It has been identified that you should cycle the Convertible top 10-15 times as part of the PDI process. This process is essential in reducing the effort to open the top and stow it in the trunk or during the closing process and latching the top. With any new top the convertible top fabric is "new" and needs to be stretched to allow for smoother operation.

Recommendation/Instructions:

Open and close the convertible top 10-15 times. This includes fully latching it to the header, and fully compressing it into the trunk. Use caution when pushing top into the trunk, as You need to press in the center of the top. After top is fully seat down into the trunk, finish the cycle and close the decklid completely.

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
