J 34730-1A Fuel Pressure Gage

Installation Procedure

    Caution: Remove the fuel tank cap and relieve the fuel system pressure before servicing the fuel system in order to reduce the risk of personal injury. After you relieve the fuel system pressure, a small amount of fuel may be released when servicing the fuel lines, the fuel injection pump, or the connections. In order to reduce the risk of personal injury, cover the fuel system components with a shop towel before disconnection. This will catch any fuel that may leak out. Place the towel in an approved container when the disconnection is complete.

  1. Relieve the fuel system pressure. Refer to Fuel Pressure Relief .
  2. Disconnect the fuel feed line from the fuel rail.

  4. Connect the fuel pressure gage connector to the fuel rail.

  5. Object Number: 1760000  Size: SH
  6. Connect the fuel pressure gage connector to the fuel feed line.

  7. Object Number: 1784927  Size: SH
  8. Check the fuel leakage.
  9. Read the J 34730-1A (1). Normal fuel pressure is between 402 kPa (58.3 psi) to 418 kPa (60.0 psi).
  10. Relieve the fuel pressure. Refer to Fuel Pressure Relief .

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 1784927  Size: SH
  1. Remove the J 34730-1A (1).
  2. Connect the fuel feed line to the fuel rail.
  3. Start the engine and check for the fuel leakage.
