Makes 🢒 Opel 🢒 2007 🢒 Antara 🢒 Engine 🢒 Engine Electrical 🢒 Steering Linkage Outer Tie Rod Replacement

Removal Procedure
  1. Raise and support the vehicle on an alignment rack. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .

    2. Object Number: 1768685 Size: SH
  2. Remove the front tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation .
  3. Mark the threads on the inner tie rod to aid in repositioning the adjusting nut.
  4. Remove the outer tie rod nut and disconnect the outer tie rod from the steering knuckle.

    5. Object Number: 1768702 Size: SH
  5. Loosen the outer tie rod adjusting nut.
  6. Remove the outer tie rod from the inner tie rod.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 1768702 Size: SH
  1. Reposition the adjusting nut to the marks on the inner tie rod.
  2. Install the outer tie rod onto the inner tie rod.

    3. Object Number: 1768685 Size: SH
  3. Connect the outer tie rod to the steering knuckle.

    4. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  4. Install the outer tie rod nut.

    5. Tighten
    Tighten the outer tie rod nut to 50 N·m (37 lb ft).

  5. Measure the wheel alignment. Refer to Wheel Alignment Measurement .
  6. Adjust the front toe if necessary. Refer to Front Toe Adjustment .
  7. Tighten the adjusting nut.

    8. Tighten
    Tighten the outer tie rod adjusting nut to 60 N·m (44 lb ft).

  8. Install the front tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation .
  9. Lower the vehicle.
