Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 1760937 Size: SH
  1. Remove the battery from the battery tray. Refer to Battery Replacement .
  2. Remove the engine control module (ECM). Refer to Engine Control Module Replacement for the 2.0L diesel engine or Engine Control Module Replacement for the 2.4L engine or Engine Control Module Replacement for the 3.2L engine.

  3. Remove the engine fuse block upper cover.
  4. Remove the engine fuse block retaining bolts.

    5. Object Number: 1775339 Size: SH
  5. Remove the engine fuse box from the lower cover.
  6. Remove the engine fuse block lower cover retaining nuts.
  7. Remove the power steering oil pump to ease to remove the engine fuse box, if necessary.
  8. Separate the engine fuse block from the welded bolts on the battery tray and the body frame.

  9. Check the battery tray for obvious cracks or damage.
  10. Remove the battery tray retaining bolts.
  11. Remove the battery tray.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 1758653 Size: SH
  1. Install the battery tray.

    2. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  2. Install the battery tray retaining bolts.

    3. Tighten
    Tighten the battery tray bolts to 10 N·m (89 lb in).


    Object Number: 1775339 Size: SH
  3. Install the engine fuse block.

    4. Tighten
    Tighten the engine fuse block lower cover retaining nuts to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  4. Install the engine fuse block retaining bolts.

    5. Tighten
    Tighten the engine fuse block retaining bolts to 3 N·m (27 lb in).

  5. Install the engine fuse block upper cover.

    6. Object Number: 1760937 Size: SH
  6. Install the ECM. Refer to Engine Control Module Replacement for the 2.0L diesel engine or Engine Control Module Replacement for the 2.4L engine or Engine Control Module Replacement for the 3.2L engine.

    7. Object Number: 1775334 Size: SH
  7. Install the battery. Refer to Battery Replacement .
