Removal Procedure

    Caution: Refer to SIR Caution in the Preface section.

  1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling in SIR.
  2. Remove the steering column from the vehicle. Refer to Steering Wheel Replacement .
  3. Remove the turn signal cancel cam. Refer to Turn Signal Cancel Cam and Steering Shaft Upper Bearing Spring Replacement .
  4. Remove the ignition switch assembly. Refer to Ignition and Start Switch Replacement .

    5. Object Number: 324874 Size: SH
  5. Disconnect the park lock cable assembly (1).

    6. The lock cylinder should be in the OFF-LOCK position.

  6. Insert a small screwdriver into the slot on the ignition lock cylinder case assembly and push against the locking tab to remove.

    7. Object Number: 306295 Size: SH
  7. Remove the 3 pan head tapping screws (2) from the ignition lock cylinder case assembly (1).
  8. Remove the ignition lock cylinder case assembly (1).

Installation Procedure

    Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 306295 Size: SH
  1. Install the ignition lock cylinder case assembly (1) and secure by using 3 pan head tapping screws (2).

    2. Tighten
    Tighten the screws to 7 N·m (62 lb in).

  2. Connect the park lock cable assembly (1).
    3. • The lock cylinder should be in the OFF-LOCK position.
    • Install the locking tab at the end of the park lock cable assembly (1) into the ignition lock cylinder case assembly.
  3. Install the ignition switch assembly. Refer to Ignition and Start Switch Replacement .
  4. Install the turn signal cancel cam. Refer to Turn Signal Cancel Cam and Steering Shaft Upper Bearing Spring Replacement .
  5. Install the steering column into the vehicle. Refer to Steering Wheel Replacement .
  6. Enable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling in SIR.
