The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

Condition/Concern:

The battery light comes on and a DTC P0620 is set. The flow chart in SI never leads to check the voltage on circuit 2740

Recommendation/Instructions:

Prior to replacing any parts check for a loss of battery voltage from the underhood fuse block to the generator on circuit 2740 ORN wire.

  1. Check the ALT/SENCE fuse in the underhood bused electrical center (UBEC).
  2. Check for battery voltage at the generator Connector pin D circuit 2740 ORN wire.
  3. If battery voltage IS NOT present at the generator pin D, check for voltage at the UBEC connector C1 pin E12 for circuit 2740 ORN wire. If there is no voltage at the UBEC connector C1 pin E12, check for a poor terminal connection. If the terminal connection is good, then replace the underhood bused electrical center (UBEC).
  4. If battery voltage IS present at the generator pin D, then follow the recommended repairs per the flow chart for the DTC P0620.

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
