Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 422750  Size: MH

    Caution: Following the deployment of a side impact air bag, inspect the following parts for damage. Replace these parts if necessary:

       • The seat cushion frame
       • The seat recliner, if equipped
       • The seat adjuster
       • The seat back frame
    Failure to do so may cause future personal injury.

  1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to Disabling the SIR System .
  2. Remove the passenger front seat. Refer to Bucket Seat Replacement in Seats.
  3. Remove the J-clips on the back of the passenger's seat.
  4. Using a flat head screwdriver, remove the plastic molding (2) that holds the air bag inflator module (1) to the passenger seat back frame.

  5. Object Number: 422755  Size: MH
  6. Note the routing of the inflator module wiring harness (2) and the retaining clip attachments within the passenger seat.
  7. Remove the wiring harness retaining clips from the passenger seat frame.
  8. Remove the wiring harness (2) from the passenger seat frame.
  9. Remove the air bag inflator module (1) from the passenger seat back frame.
  10. Fully deploy the module before disposal. If the module was replaced under warranty, fully deploy and dispose of the module after the required retention period. Refer to Inflator Module Handling and Scrapping .

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 422755  Size: MH
  1. Install the inflator module wiring harness (2) to the passenger seat frame, while guiding the wiring harness through the appropriate spots on the passenger seat frame.
  2. Install the wiring harness retaining clips to the passenger seat frame.

  3. Object Number: 422750  Size: MH
  4. Install the plastic molding (2) that holds the air bag inflator module (1) to the passenger seat back frame.
  5. Install the air bag inflator module (1) to the passenger seat back frame
  6. Install the J-clips on the back of the passenger's seat.
  7. Install the passenger front seat. Refer to Bucket Seat Replacement in Seats.
  8. Enable the SIR system. Refer to Enabling the SIR System .
