Removal Procedure

    Caution: This vehicle is equipped with a Supplemental Inflatable Restraint (SIR) System. Failure to follow the correct procedure could cause the following conditions:

       • Air bag deployment
       • Personal injury
       • Unnecessary SIR system repairs
    In order to avoid the above conditions, observe the following guidelines:
       • Refer to SIR Component Views in order to determine if you are performing service on or near the SIR components or the SIR wiring.
       • If you are performing service on or near the SIR components or the SIR wiring, disable the SIR system. Refer to Disabling the SIR System.

  1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to Disabling the SIR System in SIR.

  2. Object Number: 317076  Size: SH
  3. Disconnect the seat belt electrical connector (3) from the body wiring harness.
  4. Disconnect the power seat connector from the body wiring harness 6-way power seat only.
  5. Disconnect both seat back and seat cushion heated seat element connectors from the harness.
  6. For the passenger seat only, remove the front under-seat storage tray. Refer to Passenger Seat Storage Tray Replacement .
  7. Remove the front seat nuts (2).
  8. Remove the front seat (1) from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 317076  Size: SH

    Important: Ensure that the front seat stud washers are in place when installing the seat. Smaller diameter washers should be located on the forward front seat studs.

  1. Install the front seat (1) to the vehicle.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the front seat nuts (2).
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the nuts to 40 N·m (30 lb ft).

  5. For the passenger seat only, install the under-seat storage tray. Refer to Passenger Seat Storage Tray Replacement .
  6. Install the power seat connector to the body wiring harness 6-way power seat only.
  7. Install the seat belt electrical connector (3) to the body wiring harness.
  8. Install both the heater element electrical connectors to the body wiring harness.
  9. Enable the SIR system. Refer to Enabling the SIR System in SIR.
