Removal Procedure
- Remove the front door trim panel Refer to Door Trim Panel Replacement .
- Remove the front door water deflector. Refer to Front Side Door Water Deflector Replacement .
- Remove the front door outside handle rod from the outside handle.
- Remove the lock rod from the outside handle lock cylinder.
- Remove the front door lock module harness connector, if equipped.
- Remove the front door outside handle screws.
- Remove the front door outside handle from the front door.
Installation Procedure
- Install the front door outside handle to the front door.
- Install the front door outside handle screws.
- Install the rod to the lock cylinder.
- Install the front door outside handle rod to the outside handle.
- Install the front door lock module harness connector, if equipped.
- Install the front door water deflector. Refer to Front Side Door Water Deflector Replacement .
- Install the front door trim panel. Refer to Door Trim Panel Replacement .
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
Tighten
Tighten the screws to 10 N·m (89 lb in).
