Manual Seat Adjuster Mechanism Replacement Two-Way Manual

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the front seat. Refer to Bucket Seat Replacement .
  2. Remove the finish covers. Refer to Front Seat Adjuster Track Finish Cover Replacement .
  3. Remove the seat belt buckle with pretensioner. Refer to Seat Belt Buckle Pretensioner Replacement - Left Side or Seat Belt Buckle Pretensioner Replacement - Right Side in SIR.

  4. Object Number: 317171  Size: SH
  5. Remove the seat adjuster bolts.
  6. Remove the seat adjuster (1) from the seat frame.

Installation Procedure

Important: When installing manual seat adjusters to the seat bottom frame, the right and the left seat adjuster sliding mechanisms should be parallel and in phase with each other.

After installing manual seat adjusters to the seat frame, inspect the operation of the adjusters.

  1. Install the seat adjuster (1) to the seat frame.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the seat adjuster bolts.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 32 N·m (24 lb ft).

  5. Install the seat belt buckle with pretensioner. Refer to Seat Belt Buckle Pretensioner Replacement - Left Side or Seat Belt Buckle Pretensioner Replacement - Right Side in SIR.
  6. Install the finish covers. Refer to Front Seat Adjuster Track Finish Cover Replacement .
  7. Install the front seat. Refer to Bucket Seat Replacement .

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the front seat. Refer to Bucket Seat Replacement .
  2. Remove the finish covers. Refer to Front Seat Adjuster Track Finish Cover Replacement .
  3. Remove the seat belt buckle with pretensioner. Refer to Seat Belt Buckle Pretensioner Replacement - Left Side or Seat Belt Buckle Pretensioner Replacement - Right Side in SIR.
  4. Cut the cable strap that secures the seat belt warning lamp wire to the seat frame.
  5. Remove the seat adjuster bolts.

  7. Remove the seat adjuster (1) from the seat frame (4).

Installation Procedure

Important: When installing manual seat adjusters to the seat bottom frame, the right and the left seat adjuster sliding mechanisms should be parallel and in phase with each other.

After installing manual seat adjusters to the seat frame, inspect the operation of the adjusters.

Ensure that the adjusters are parallel and in phase with each other when installing the power seat adjusters.

  6. Install the finish covers (1). Refer to Front Seat Adjuster Track Finish Cover Replacement .
  7. Install the front seat (4). Refer to Bucket Seat Replacement .
  8. Route the seat belt warning lamp wire to the rear of the lift linkage and secure it with a cable strap.
