  1. Turn OFF the ignition.
  2. Leave the key in the ignition.
  3. Disconnect the BCM connector C2.
  4. Connect a test lamp between the control circuit of the ignition key alarm switch and B+. Refer to Circuit Testing in Wiring Systems.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Test the control circuit of the ignition key alarm switch for a high resistance or an open. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the BCM connector C2. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Connect a test lamp between the ground circuit of the ignition key alarm switch and B+. Refer to Circuit Testing in Wiring Systems.

Repair the open in the ground circuit of the ignition key alarm switch. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Replace the ignition key alarm switch. Refer to Ignition and Key Alarm Switch Assembly - Disassemble - Off Vehicle and Ignition and Key Alarm Switch Assembly - Assemble - Off Vehicle in Steering Wheel and Column - Tilt.
