"GM OF CANADA" AND 'NAES' DEALERS ARE NOT AUTHORIZED TO UTILIZE THIS SERVICE BULLETIN.

AS PART OF AN ONGOING EFFORT TO PROVIDE GM DEALERS WITH COMMON PROCESSES, A NEW TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE PRE-CALL WORKSHEET HAS BEEN DEVELOPED. ATTACHED IS A PAD OF WORKSHEETS THAT SHOULD BE USED WHEN CALLING ANY OF YOUR FRANCHISED DIVISIONS FOR TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE.

THIS FORM MUST BE COMPLETED BEFORE CALLING FOR ASSISTANCE AND SUBSEQUENTLY RETAINED IN THE VEHICLE'S HISTORY FILE. THE INFORMATION ON THE FILE CORRELATES WITH WHAT EACH DIVISIONAL TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE REPRESENTATIVE WILL REQUIRE WHEN YOU CALL. FAILURE TO COMPLETE THE FORM WILL PROLONG YOUR CALL WHILE THE INFORMATION IS GATHERED.

SEVERAL NEW ITEMS INCLUDING NUMBER OF PRIOR REPAIRS AND CONSUMER RELATIONS CASE NUMBER IF APPLICABLE, HAVE BEEN ADDED TO PROVIDE EMPHASIS ON VEHICLES THAT MAY BE SUBJECT TO STATE LEMON LAWS. WHILE ALL CALLS ARE IMPORTANT, VEHICLES IN THESE SITUATIONS SHOULD BE GIVEN PRIORITY TO AVOID LOSING OUR CUSTOMER.

RECOMMENDATIONS FROM TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE SHOULD BE DOCUMENTED ON THE FORM AS WELL AS WHAT ULTIMATELY CORRECTED THE CONDITION. WHEN THE VEHICLE IS REPAIRED, THE CASE SHOULD BE CLOSED BY EITHER CALLING THE TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE CENTER OR FAXING THE FORM. ACCURATE CASE CLOSING INFORMATION IS THE MOST IMPORTANT ELEMENT IN OUR DATABASE SINCE CLOSED CASES ARE FREQUENTLY REFERENCED FOR TECHNICAL ADVICE.
