CONSUMER INFORMATION REQUIREMENT/GLOVE BOX FOLDER

All 1983 Oldsmobile vehicles will have a Consumer Information folder installed in the glove compartment at the time of production.

Each vehicle, by law, must have this information. Therefore, we cannot overemphasize the importance of making certain that the installed folders remain with the vehicles. All cars are supplied with the Consumer Information through the use of a single consolidated folder (Figure 1).

To identify Consumer Information tables in this folder for a specific vehicle, locate the Consumer Information Table Code Letter (Figure 2) on the lower right corner of the label on the rear edge ot the driver's door. This letter will indicate the table for vehicle stopping distance. If a folder is lost, additional folders are available through the zone office, Part Number 22518557.

General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
