Circuit Description
Steer angle centering is the process by which the EBCM calibrates the steering sensor output so that the output reads zero when the steering wheel is centered.
Conditions for Running the DTC
| • | The ignition is ON. |
| • | The vehicle speed is greater than 40 km/h (25 mph). |
Conditions for Setting the DTC
If the steering angle sensor CAN message or the EBCM indicates an uncentered sensor.
Action Taken When the DTC Sets
| • | A malfunction DTC is set |
| • | ABS and VSES are disabled |
| • | TCS, SERVICE VEHICLE SOON and PCS lamp indicators turn on |
Conditions for Clearing the DTC
| • | The condition for the DTC is no longer present. |
| • | A history DTC will clear after 124 consecutive ignition cycles if the condition for the malfunction is no longer present. |
| • | Using a scan tool. |
| • | The EBCM automatically clears the history DTC when a current DTC is not detected in 124 consecutive drive cycles. |
