Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 600206  Size: SH
  1. Turn OFF the ignition.
  2. Remove the front floor console. Refer to Front Floor Console Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.
  3. Disconnect the lateral accelerometer sensor electrical connector (3).
  4. Remove the 2 lateral accelerometer sensor drive nuts (1).
  5. Remove the lateral accelerometer sensor (2).

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the lateral accelerometer sensor (2).
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the 2 lateral accelerometer sensor drive nuts (1).
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the 2 lateral accelerometer sensor drive nuts to 2.4 N·m (21 lb in).

  5. Connect the lateral accelerometer sensor electrical connector (3).
  6. Install the front floor console. Refer to Front Floor Console Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.
  7. Perform the ABS Diagnostic System Check. Refer to Diagnostic System Check - ABS .
