Radiator Inlet Hose Replacement 3.5L V6 LX5

Removal Procedure

Tools Required

J 38185 Hose Clamp Pliers


    Object Number: 289164  Size: SH
  1. Partially drain the engine coolant from the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .
  2. Use J 38185 in order to remove the outlet hose clamp from the radiator.
  3. Disconnect the outlet hose from the radiator.

  4. Object Number: 289162  Size: SH
  5. Remove the outlet hose clamp from the water crossover using the J 38185 .
  6. Disconnect the outlet hose from the water crossover.
  7. Remove the outlet hose.

Installation Procedure

Tools Required

J 38185 Hose Clamp Pliers


    Object Number: 289162  Size: SH
  1. Install the outlet hose.
  2. Connect the outlet hose to the water crossover.
  3. Use J 38185 in order to install the outlet hose clamp from the radiator.

  4. Object Number: 289164  Size: SH
  5. Connect the outlet hose to the radiator.
  6. Install the outlet hose clamp to the radiator using the J 38185 .
  7. Fill the cooling system with engine coolant. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .
  8. Inspect system for leaks.

Removal Procedure

Tools Required

J 38185 Hose Clamp Pliers

  1. Drain the coolant. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .
  2. Remove the electric cooling fan assembly. Refer to Engine Cooling Fan Replacement .

  3. Object Number: 308976  Size: SH
  4. Use J 38185 in order to remove the outlet hose clamp from the radiator.

  5. Object Number: 308975  Size: SH
  6. Disconnect the outlet hose from the water pump housing using the J 38185 .
  7. Remove the outlet hose.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 308975  Size: SH
  1. Install the outlet hose in position and align the marks on the hose.
  2. Use J 38185 in order to remove the outlet hose clamp from the radiator.

  3. Object Number: 308976  Size: SH
  4. Use J 38185 in order to install the outlet hose clamp from the radiator.
  5. Install the electric cooling fan assembly. Refer to Engine Cooling Fan Replacement .
  6. Fill the cooling system with engine coolant. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .
  7. Inspect for leaks.
