Removal Procedure

The instrument panel (IP) switch bank consists of the trunk release, fuel door, front fog lamp (if equipped) and IP dimmer switches.

  1. Remove the LH instrument panel (IP) insulator. Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Replacement .
  2. Remove the steering column opening filler panel. Refer to Steering Column Opening Filler Replacement .
  3. Remove the screws retaining the IP switch bank to the IP trim pad.
  4. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the switch bank.
  5. Remove the IP switch bank.

Installation Procedure

  1. Connect the electrical connectors to the IP switch bank.
  2. Install the switch bank into position on the IP trim pad.
  3. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  4. Install the IP switch bank retaining screws.
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the IP switch bank retaining screws to 2 N·m (18 lb in).

  6. Install the steering column opening filler panel. Refer to Steering Column Opening Filler Replacement .
  7. Install the LH IP insulator. Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Replacement .
