Removal Procedure

  1. Use a frame contact hoist in order to raise the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  2. Support the frame near the insulator with jack stands.
  3. Remove the following components from the insulator:
  4. • The bolt
    • The retainer
  5. Remove the lower insulator.
  6. Slightly raise the body.
  7. Remove the upper insulator.
  8. Remove the spacer.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the upper insulator.
  2. Install the spacer.
  3. Install the lower body to the frame.
  4. Install the lower insulator.
  5. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  6. Install the following components to the insulator:
  7. • The bolt
    • The retainer

    Tighten
    Tighten the insulator bolts to 90 N·m (66 lb ft).
