Did you perform the Power Door Locks System Check?

  1. Enter the body control module (MALL) diagnostic mode.
  2. Press and hold the power door unlock switch.
  3. Cycle the headlamps 6 times.
  4. Release the power door unlock switch.
  5. The MALL module may sound a few bongs (history codes) upon entering the diagnostic mode. Refer to Body Control Module Diagnostic Information in Body Control Systems for a list of these codes.
  6. Shift the gear selector from PARK to NEUTRAL, then back to PARK.
  7. Turn OFF the ignition.

Does the MALL module sound 1 bong for the PARK to NEUTRAL shift and 1 bong for the NEUTRAL to PARK shift?

Set the automatic door locks to operate in mode 3.

Does the automatic door locks feature work once this procedure is complete?

  1. Disconnect the MALL module connector C2.
  2. Place the ignition switch in the RUN position.
  3. Put the gear selector in the PARK position.
  4. Use a DMM in order to measure the voltage from the MALL module connector C2 terminal D6 to ground.

Does the voltage measure within the specified range?

10-15 V

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
  2. Disconnect the park/neutral position switch.
  3. Measure the voltage from the park/neutral position switch connector C1 terminal B to ground.

Does the voltage measure within the specified range?

10-15 V

Inspect fuse T/SIG/BULB/BTSI in the IP fuse block.

Is the fuse open?

Measure the voltage from the PARK/NEUTRAL position switch connector C1 terminal B to terminal B+.

Does the voltage measure within the specified range?

10-15 V

Repair the short to ground on CKT 539 (PNK).

Repair the open in CKT 539 (PNK) or open the power feed to fuse 1B in the IP fuse block.

Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Test CKT 275 (LT GRN) for an open or short to ground.

Is CKT 275 OK?

Repair CKT 275 (LT GRN).

Replace the park/neutral position switch. Refer to Park/Neutral Position Switch Replacement in Transmission/Transaxle.

  1. Leave the ignition switch in the RUN position.
  2. Close the left front door.
  3. Move the gear selector to the NEUTRAL position.
  4. Measure the voltage from the MALL module connector C2 terminal D6 to ground.

Does the voltage measure within the specified range?

10-15 V

Test CKT 275 (LT GRN) for a short to the battery.

Is CKT 275 OK?

Repair the CKT 275 (LT GRN).

Replace the park/neutral position switch.

Inspect the MALL module for proper terminal contact at the connector C2 terminal D6.

Refer to Intermittents and Poor Connections Diagnosis in Wiring Systems.

Is the terminal contact at the connector OK?
