Was the RAP System Check performed?

  1. Close all of the passenger compartment doors.
  2. Connect a scan tool.
  3. Go to the RFA Special Functions.
  4. Go to Outputs for RAP.
  5. Cycle the RAP function ON and then OFF.

Do the RAP controlled components operate?

Go to Step 3

  1. Remove the RAP relay.
  2. Using a scan tool command the RAP system ON.
  3. Measure the resistance between terminal 86 and ground.

Is the resistance within the specified range?

0-5 ohms

Go to Step 5

Repair open or high resistance in CKT 707.

Is the repair complete?

  1. Using the scan tool, command the RAP system OFF.
  2. Measure the voltage between terminal 85 of the RAP relay and ground.

Is the voltage within the specified range?

10-15 V

Go to Step 7

Repair open in CKT 1540.

Is the repair complete?

Measure the voltage between terminal 87 and ground.

Is the voltage within the specified range?

10-15 V

  1. Remove the RADIO fuse (10A) from the IP fuse block.
  2. Measure the resistance between terminal 30 of the RAP relay and the RADIO fuse terminal.

Is the resistance within the specified range?

0-5 ohms

Repace the IP fuse block.

Is the repair complete?

  1. Remove the RAP relay
  2. Measure the resistance from terminal 30 and 87.

Is the resistance within the specified range?

0-5 ohms

Go to Step 12

Go to Step 11

Replace the RAP Relay.

Is the repair complete?

  1. Disconnect the RFA connector.
  2. Connect a fused jumper between terminal 86 and a ground.
  3. Close all compartment doors.
  4. Cycle the ignition switch from RUN to OFF.

Do the RAP controlled components operate?

Replace the RFA module. Refer to Remote Control Door Lock Receiver Replacement .
