Air Deflector Louver Replacement - Rear Console Pontiac

Removal Procedure

Pull the outlets rearward from the control knob.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 468985  Size: SH
  1. Align the vent outlets to the console.
  2. Push inward in order to fasten the outlets.

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the console compartment door. Refer to Front Floor Console Armrest Replacement .

  2. Object Number: 482067  Size: SH
  3. Remove the console compartment door plate fasteners (1).
  4. Remove the console compartment door plate.

  5. Object Number: 482075  Size: SH
  6. Separate the rear air duct assembly.
  7. Use a flat bladed tool to release the air duct/rear air deflector assembly from the front section of the air duct.

  8. Remove the air duct/rear air deflector assembly.

  9. Object Number: 482070  Size: SH
  10. Use a flat bladed tool to release the rear air deflector (1) from the rear air duct (2).

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 482142  Size: SH
  1. Install the rear air deflector to the rear air duct.
  2. Fasten the air deflector retainers (1) to the studs (2) on the air duct by pushing downward to engage the retainers to the studs.

  3. Align the air deflector/air duct to the front section of the air duct in the console compartment door.
  4. Push inward to fasten.

  5. Install the console compartment door plate.
  6. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  7. Install the console compartment door plate fasteners (1).
  8. Tighten
    Tighten the fasteners to 1.6 N·m (14 lb in).

  9. Install the console compartment door. Refer to Front Floor Console Armrest Replacement .
