Radio Replacement Buick

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the IP cluster trim panel. Refer to Instrument Cluster Trim Panel Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.

  2. Object Number: 385631  Size: SH
  3. Remove the fasteners that secure the radio.
  4. Pull rearward the radio.
  5. Disconnect the electrical connector(s).
  6. Disconnect the antenna lead.
  7. If you replace the radio, remove the mounting bracket from the radio.

Installation Procedure

  1. If the radio was replaced, install the old mounting bracket.
  2. Connect the antenna lead.
  3. Connect the electrical connector(s).

  4. Object Number: 385631  Size: SH
  5. Install the radio.
  6. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  7. Install the radio fasteners.
  8. Tighten
    Tighten the fasteners to 1.9 N·m (17 lb in).

  9. Install the IP cluster trim panel. Refer to Instrument Cluster Trim Panel Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.

Radio Replacement Oldsmobile

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the IP trim plate. Refer to Instrument Panel Accessory Trim Plate Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.

  2. Object Number: 385611  Size: SH
  3. Remove the fasteners that secure the radio.
  4. Pull rearward the radio.
  5. Disconnect the electrical connector(s).
  6. Disconnect the antenna lead.
  7. If you replace the radio, remove the mounting bracket(s) from the radio.

  3. Connect the electrical connector(s).

  3. Remove the fasteners that secure the radio.
  4. Pull rearward the radio.
  5. Disconnect the electrical connector(s).
  6. Disconnect the antenna lead.
  7. If you replace the radio, remove the mounting bracket(s) from the radio.
