Makes 🢒 Oldsmobile 🢒 1999 🢒 Eighty Eight 🢒 Restraints 🢒 SIR 🢒 Enabling the SIR System

    Object Number: 215549 Size: SH
  1. Remove the key from the ignition switch.
  2. Connect the inflatable restraint IP module yellow 2-way connector (2). The connector is located above the right sound insulator.

    3. Object Number: 204656 Size: SH
  3. Attach the inflatable restraint IP module yellow 2-way connector (2) to the IP sound insulator (1) (Pontiac).

    4. Object Number: 204653 Size: SH
  4. Attach the inflatable restraint IP module yellow 2-way connector to the IP (2) (Buick).

    5. Object Number: 204657 Size: SH
  5. Attach the inflatable restraint IP module yellow 2-way connector (3) to the IP sound insulator (1) (Oldsmobile).

    6. Object Number: 142202 Size: SH
  6. Install the connector position assurance (CPA) (2) to the inflatable restraint IP module yellow 2-way connector (1). The connector is located above the right sound insulator.
  7. Install the right sound insulator. Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Right Side in Instrument Panel, Gauges, and Console.

    8. Object Number: 204605 Size: SH
  8. Connect the inflatable restraint steering wheel yellow 2-way connector (1,3). The connector is located near the base of the steering column.

    9. Object Number: 204604 Size: SH
  9. Install the connector position assurance (CPA) (3) to the inflatable restraint steering wheel yellow 2-way connector (1). The connector is located near the base of the steering column.

    10. Object Number: 204694 Size: SH
  10. Install the left sound insulator. Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Left Side in Instrument Panel, Gauges, and Console.
  11. Install the AIR BAG fuse in the IP fuse block.

    12. Important: Ensure that you remain a safe distance from both of the air bags.

  12. Turn the ignition switch to the RUN position. The following actions should occur:
    13. 12.1. The AIR BAG warning lamp will flash 7 times.
    12.2. The AIR BAG warning lamp will then turn OFF.
  13. Perform the SIR diagnostic system check. Refer to SIR Diagnostic System Check .
