Removal Procedure

Tools Required

J 24319-B Universal Steering Linkage

  1. Raise the vehicle and support the vehicle by the frame. Allow the control arms to hang free. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  2. Remove the front wheels and tires.

  3. Object Number: 155688  Size: SH
  4. Remove the left and the right stabilizer link bolts.

Installation Procedure

  1. Loosely install the stabilizer link components.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the tie rod ends to the knuckles.
  4. Tighten

        • Tighten the stabilizer link to 17 N·m (13 lb ft).
        • Tighten the nuts to 48 N·m (35 lb ft).
  5. Install the front wheels and tires.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the wheel nuts to 140 N·m (100 lb ft).

  7. Lower the vehicle.
