Removal Procedure

    Notice: Install the oil level sensor, located in the oil pan, after the oil pan is installed. The sensor may be damaged if the oil level sensor is installed first.

  1. Remove the oil level sensor.
  2. Remove the oil pan. Refer to Oil Pan Replacement .

  3. Object Number: 26202  Size: SH
  4. Remove the oil pump pipe and screen assembly attaching bolts.
  5. Clean the following areas:
  6. • The screen and the housing with solvent and blow dry
    • The gasket mating surfaces on the pipe flange and the cylinder block.

Installation Procedure

    Notice: Install the oil level sensor, located in the oil pan, after the oil pan is installed. The sensor may be damaged if the oil level sensor is installed first.

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  1. Install the oil pump pipe and screen with a new gasket.
  2. Tighten
    Tighten the oil pump pipe bolts to 11 N·m (98 lb in).

  3. Install the oil pan. Refer to Oil Pan Replacement .
  4. Install the oil level sensor.
