(DIS) EXCHANGE CENTERS AND EXCHANGE PROCDEURE

MODELS/YEARS 1988-1990 CUTLASS CIERA, NINETY-EIGHT, EIGHTY-EIGHT, CUTLASS SUPREME AND CUTLASS CALAIS MODELS WITH OPTION U51

The following procedure should be used to obtain an exchange unit when resolving customer concerns of a malfunctioning Driver Information System (DIS),

1. Confirm that the malfunction is caused by the DIS unit by performing all routine and service manual diagnosis (Section 9H) to eliminate possible wiring or connector concerns.

2. Upon confirmation that the DIS unit is at fault, contact the nearest AC-Delco Service Center from the attached listing for a replacement unit. Exchange units will be shipped from the AC-Delco Center within 24 hours of the request.

3. Have the following information ready to provide to the Exchange Center:

a. Customer Name b. Dealer Name c. Dealership Address d. Zone and Dealer Code e. Requestors Name f. Dealership Telephone Number g. Description of Malfunction h. Applicable Part Number for the Requested Unit i. Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) j. Mileage k. Delivery Date l. R.O. Number m. Dealer Purchase Order Number n. Warranty Type (12/12 or Optional Limited Warranty Extension. If optional warranty, provide mileage and expiration date)

4. Upon receipt of the exchange DIS, the dealer will arrange installation in the customers car as soon as possible.

5. Package the malfunctioning unit in the same container in which the new unit was received. Return the malfunctioning unit via prepaid UPS to the address indicated on the packing slip no later than 15 days from the date of shipment from the Exchange Center.

A copy of the AC Delco form ACD 1078A should be included in the box with the returned unit. Also, in the case of a demo with the Optional Limited Warranty Extension, a copy of the optional warranty card should also be included in the box with the returned unit.

IMPORTANT: Dealers MUST return the affected DIS to the Exchange Center within 15 days to prevent core shortages and possible billings for non returned units.

Units not returned within the 15 day period will be billed to the dealer.

WARRANTY INFORMATION:

Warranty Claims for exchange units on vehicles within 12 months/12,000 miles or, if applicable, within the time mileage limits of the Optional Limited Warranty Extension, should be submitted using the appropriate Labor Operation and time as listed in the current Labor Time Guide. Prepaid shipping of the returned unit via UPS should be submitted as sublet expense on the Warranty Claim.

Dealers will be billed for all replacement units that are beyond 12 months/12,000 miles or beyond the time mileage limits of the Optional Limited Warranty Extension. Warranty claims for exchange units beyond these limits, but within 3 years/50,000 miles, should be submitted in the following manner and will not require zone authorization:

Use appropriate labor operation and time.

Submit replacement unit cost and shipping expense as sublet.

All claims are subject to the $100 deductible provisions per repair visit as outlined in the New Car Limited Warranty.
