SUBJECT: VINYL TRIM AND VINYL TOP REPAIR INFORMATION

MODELS/YEARS: 1988-92 ALL OLDSMOBILE MODELS

Attached to the service manager's copy of this bulletin is information from U.S. Body Products regarding liquid vinyl color sprays and pre-mixed colorpak kits. This information should be reviewed with personnel in your dealership responsible for this type of repair. Most of these materials should be available through your local jobbers.

If U.S. Body Products material is not available locally, you may write, wire or phone U.S. Body Products. Their address is: P.O. Box 1213, Troy, Michigan 48099. Telephone (313) 643-8822. They will advise you of the availability of the material and will ship the material directly to your dealership pre-paid at your request. When contacting U.S. Body Products directly, give them the name of your local distributor so that they may follow-up in assisting the local supplier with your future needs. For your convenience U.S. Body Product will also accept Fax orders on (313)-643-6283.

P.P.G. Industries (Ditzler) also manufacturers vinyl paints for interior and exterior. The Ditzler material can be mixed by your local Ditzler jobber. If your local Ditzler jobber does not carry liquid vinyl paint (UCV), contact the nearest Ditzler warehouse. The warehouse will refer you to the nearest Ditzler vendor that is able to supply the material.

We believe these sources and their products to be reliable. there may be additional manufacturers of such products. Oldsmobile Division does not endorse, indicate any preference for or assume any responsibility for the products from these firms or for any such items which may be available from other sources.

General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
