For 1990-2009 cars only
- Measure the reaction carrier pinion gear end play for proper clearance. Use a feeler gauge. The clearance is 0.24-0.69 mm (0.01-0.027 in).
- Clean and dry each of the components.
Important: Replace the carrier assembly if the pinion gear clearance is out of specification. The pinion gears are permanently assembled to the carrier and are not serviced individually.
