Removal Procedure

  1. Loosen the air cleaner outlet duct clamps.

  2. Object Number: 102574  Size: SH
  3. Remove the air cleaner outlet duct from the air cleaner assembly.
  4. Caution: Unless directed otherwise, the ignition and start switch must be in the OFF or LOCK position, and all electrical loads must be OFF before servicing any electrical component. Disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent an electrical spark should a tool or equipment come in contact with an exposed electrical terminal. Failure to follow these precautions may result in personal injury and/or damage to the vehicle or its components.

  5. Disconnect the battery cables.
  6. Remove the battery. Refer to Battery Replacement in Engine Electrical.

  8. Remove the lower air cleaner mounting nuts.

  9. Object Number: 102582  Size: SH
  10. Remove the upper and lower air cleaner assembly.

Installation Procedure

    Important: Verify full engagement of the intake duct and resonator assembly into the air cleaner assembly.

  1. Install and align the upper and lower air cleaner assembly to the intake duct and the resonator assembly.

  2. Object Number: 102578  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the lower air cleaner mounting nuts.
  4. Tighten
    Lower air cleaner mounting nuts to 10 N·m (89 lb in)

  5. Install the battery. Refer to Battery Replacement in Engine Electrical.
  6. Connect the battery cables.

  8. Install the air cleaner outlet duct to the air cleaner assembly.

  9. Object Number: 102569  Size: SH

  10. Tighten the air cleaner outlet duct clamps.
  11. Tighten
    Air cleaner outlet duct clamps to 5 N·m (44 lb in)
