Removal Procedure

Important: When replacing the rear compartment lid lock striker, observe the following:

   • Fasten the striker to the rear end panel mounting holes.
   • Ensure that proper rear compartment lid alignment and closing effort is maintained.
   • Make adjustments with the rear compartment lid lock striker.

  1. Remove the rear compartment lid lock striker nuts (2).

  2. Object Number: 277681  Size: MH
  3. Remove the rear compartment lid lock striker (1).

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 277681  Size: MH
  1. Install the rear compartment lid lock striker (1).

  2. Object Number: 277664  Size: SH
  3. Install the rear compartment lid lock striker nuts (2).
  4. Hand tighten the rear compartment lid lock striker nuts.

  5. Adjust the rear compartment lid alignment and closing effort as necessary.
  6. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  7. Tighten the rear compartment lid lock striker nuts.
  8. Tighten
    Tighten the nuts to 7 N·m (62 lb in).
