The rear compartment lid lock attaches to the rear compartment lid. The following adjustments can be performed at the rear compartment lid lock striker:

  1. The proper lid lock operation
  2. The lock-to-striker engagement
  3. The rear compartment lid closing effort

Removal Procedure

    Important: Before replacing the rear compartment lid lock cable assembly latch, ensure the lid is properly aligned in the following directions:

       • Side-to-side
       • Front-to-rear

  1. Remove the rear compartment lid lock cable assembly latch.
  2. Disconnect the electrical connector.

  3. Object Number: 277637  Size: SH
  4. Remove the bolts (2).
  5. Remove the rear compartment lid lock (1).

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 277637  Size: SH
  1. Install the rear compartment lid lock (1).
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the bolts (2).
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 11 N·m (97 lb in).

  5. Connect the electrical connector.
  6. Install the rear compartment lid lock cable assembly latch.
