Removal Procedure

1. Open the hood.
2. Disconnect the hood latch release cable from the hood primary and secondary latch (2). Refer to Hood Primary Latch Release Cable Replacement .



3. Remove the hood latch bolts (3).
4. Remove the hood latch (2).

Installation Procedure

1. Install the hood latch (2).

Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

2. Install the hood primary and secondary latch to the hood primary latch striker.

Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 10 N·m (97 lb in).

Install the hood latch bolts (3).

3. Install the hood latch release cable to the hood latch. Refer to Hood Primary Latch Release Cable Replacement .
4. Adjust the latch alignment.
