Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 276907  Size: SH
  1. Mark the position of the hinge (2) on the hood (1).
  2. Mark the position of the hinge on the front fender.
  3. Tape the corners of the hood in order to prevent damage to the paint.
  4. Support the hood (1).
  5. Remove the hood hinge upper bolts.
  6. Remove the hood hinge lower bolts.
  7. Remove the hood hinge (2).

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the hood hinge (2).
  2. Align the marks made during removal.

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the hood hinge lower bolts.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the hinge lower bolts to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).

  5. Install the hood hinge upper bolts.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 28 N·m (21 lb ft).

  7. Align the hood (1). Refer to Hood Adjustment .
