Cruise Control Cable Adjustment 2.4L

  1. Verify that the throttle body injection (TBI) is in the closed position in order to adjust the cable.
  2. Adjust the thumb screw in order to remove any slack in the cruise control cable.
  3. Verify that the TBI cam returns to the closed position.

Cruise Control Cable Adjustment 3100 V-6

  1. Disengage the adjustment lock tab on the cruise control cable in order to adjust the cable assembly.
  2. Lift upward on the cable.
  3. The cable will move freely in and out of the adjuster when the lock is disengaged.
  4. Verify that the throttle body injection (TBI) cam is in the closed position.
  5. Remove any slack in the cruise control cable by moving the cable in or out of the adjuster.
  6. The cruise control throttle body cam will rest against the throttle lever when the cable is properly adjusted.
  7. Important: Do not remove the adjustment lock tab from the cable. If the adjustment lock tab becomes separated from the cruise control cable, replace the cable.

  8. Push down in order to engage the adjustment lock tab.
  9. Verify that the TBI cam returns to the closed position.
