Important: Repairs to the following areas require the loosening of some A/C bracket bolts:

       • The A/C compressor
       • The A/C belt system
In order to prevent future torque loss after retightening the bolts, perform the following steps:
       • Replace the bolt with an appropriate new bolt.
       • Replace the stud with an appropriate new stud.
       • Apply Loctite® 242 or the equivalent to the bolt or stud threads.
Follow the package instructions in order to achieve the best retention.

  1. Install the bracket.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the following components:
  4. • The compressor (4)
    • Refer to Air Conditioning Compressor Replacement .
    • The compressor attaching bolts (1,2,3,5)
