Heater Core

The heater core transfers the heat from the engine coolant to the incoming air. The heater core is located in the lower part of the HVAC module near the front of the dash.

Heater Hoses

The heater hoses carry the engine coolant from the engine to the heater core. The heater hoses attach to the following locations:

    • The heater core at the front of the dash
    • The inlet pipes and the outlet pipes at the engine

Flow Control Valve

The 2.4L engines use the flow control valve (or H valve) in order to assist in warming the heater. The valve, which attaches to the heater hoses, is located between the engine and the heater core.
