Tools Required

1. Install the bearing and housing assembly.



2. Pull tilt arm to lift steering wheel lock shoes onto dowel pins in steering column support assembly and install the bearing and housing assembly.
3. Install the tilt spring assembly only. Refer to Tilt Spring - Assemble - Off Vehicle .




Important: If the support assembly has 3 sets of staking, then replace the support assembly and the pivot pins.

4. Install the 2 pivot pins. Lubricate the pivot pins with lithium grease.
5. Stake the pivot pins in 3 places after installed.



6. Install the inner race (3).
7. Install the upper bearing inner race seat (2).
8. Install the upper bearing spring (1).



9. Install the turn signal cancel cam assembly (2).
10. Install the cam orientation plate (1).



11. Install the bearing retainer using J 23653-SIR and the J 42137 .
12. Install the SIR coil assembly. Refer to Inflatable Restraint Steering Wheel Module Coil Assemble - Off Vehicle .
