  1. Ensure that the Battery is fully charged.
  2. Remove the F/P INJ Fuse.
  3. Measure voltage across the battery terminals with a DMM while attempting to crank the engine.

Is voltage measured within the specified range?

9.6 V or Greater

Go to Step 2

Measure voltage drop with a DMM between the negative battery terminal and the engine block while attempting to crank the engine.

Is the voltage drop within the specified range?

0.5 V or Less

Go to Step 3

Go to Step 4

Measure voltage between the positive battery terminal and the Starter Solenoid terminal B while attempting to crank the engine.

Is voltage measured within the specified range?

0.5 V or Less

Go to Step 5

Clean the terminals or replace the negative battery cable between the Battery and the engine block.

Is repair complete?
