Removal Procedure
- Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting and Jacking in General Information.
- Remove the transmission converter cover bolts and the cover.
- Mark the relationship of the converter to the flywheel.
- Remove the three bolts attaching the converter to the flywheel.
Installation Procedure
- Install the bolts attaching the converter to the flywheel.
- Install the converter cover and the attaching bolts.
- Lower the vehicle.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
Tighten
Tighten all bolts to 62 N·m (46 lb ft) Retorque
the first bolt after all three have been tightened.
Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 10 N·m (89 lb in).
