Tools Required

Caution: Unless directed otherwise, the ignition and start switch must be in the OFF or LOCK position, and all electrical loads must be OFF before servicing any electrical component. Disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent an electrical spark should a tool or equipment come in contact with an exposed electrical terminal. Failure to follow these precautions may result in personal injury and/or damage to the vehicle or its components.

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Install the J 28467-360 and the J 28467-90 .
3. Remove the transmission. Refer to Transmission Replacement in Automatic Transaxle - 4T40-E.
4. Remove the flywheel. Refer to Engine Flywheel Replacement .
5. Remove the crankshaft rear oil seal. Refer to Crankshaft Rear Oil Seal Removal .

1. Install the rear main seal. Refer to Crankshaft Rear Oil Seal Installation .
2. Install the flywheel. Refer to Engine Flywheel Replacement .
3. Install the transmission. Refer to Transmission Replacement in Automatic Transaxle - 4T40-E.
4. Remove the J 28467-360 and the J 28467-90 .
5. Connect the negative battery cable.
6. Check for proper fluid levels.
7. Inspect for leaks.
