DEFINITION: This symptom will only be present if power is supplied to the endgate/liftgate window release actuator at all times or if a mechanical problem with the latch mechanism exists.

Did you perform the Lift Window Release System Check?

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position. Do not start the engine.
  2. Place the transmission in the PARK position (A/T) or the NEUTRAL position (M/T).
  3. For manual transmission, set the parking brake.
  4. Use the scan tool output control in order to turn monitor the liftglass relay status.

Is the liftglass relay status OFF?

  1. Disconnect the rear wiper/washer switch and endgate/liftgate window release switch.
  2. Use the scan tool in order to monitor the liftglass relay status.

Is the liftglass relay status OFF?

Locate and repair a short to ground in CKT 1576 (BLK).

Is the repair complete?

Replace the rear wiper/washer switch and endgate/liftgate window release switch.

Is the repair complete?

Disconnect the liftglass relay from the underhood fuse block.

Will the lift glass latch?

Locate and repair a short to power in CKT 56 (BLK/WHT).

Inspect CKT 1344 (LT BLU) for a short to ground.

Is a short present?

Replace the liftglass relay in the underhood fuse block.
