Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 748 Size: SH
  1. Remove the endgate trim panel. Refer to Endgate Trim Panel Replacement .
  2. Remove the endgate cover from the endgate.

    3. Object Number: 392990 Size: SH
  3. Remove the endgate bellcrank rod from the endgate inside handle assembly.
  4. Remove the screws that retain the endgate cover to the endgate.
  5. Release the endgate latch rods from the latch rod clips.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 392990 Size: SH
  1. Install the endgate bellcrank rod to the endgate inside handle assembly.

    2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  2. Install the screws that retain the endgate cover to the endgate.

    3. Tighten
    Tighten the screws to 1.2 N·m (11 lb in).

  3. Secure the endgate latch rods to the latch rod clips.

  4. Install the endgate cover to the endgate.
  5. Install the endgate trim panel. Refer to Endgate Trim Panel Replacement .
