Removal Procedure

1. Lower the spare tire.
2. Remove the rear tail lamp assemblies. Refer to Tail Lamp Replacement in Lighting Systems.
3. Remove the bolts that retain the frame to the pickup box.
4. Remove the wiring harness ground wire from the frame.
5. Remove the license plate lamp. Refer to Rear License Lamp Replacement .
6. Remove the ground wire that retains the fuel filler neck to the pickup box.
7. Remove the screws that retain the fuel filler neck to the pickup box.
8. Remove the pickup box from the vehicle.

1. Install the pickup box to the vehicle.
2. Install the screws that retain the fuel filler neck to the pickup box.
3. Install the ground wire that retains the fuel filler neck to the pickup box.
4. Install the license plate lamp. Refer to Rear License Lamp Replacement .
5. Install the wiring harness ground wire to the frame.

Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

6. Install the bolts that retain the frame to the pickup box.

Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 70 N·m (52 lb ft).

7. Install the rear tail lamp assemblies. Refer to Tail Lamp Replacement in Lighting Systems.
