Removal Procedure

    Caution: Before servicing any electrical component, the ignition and start switch must be in the OFF or LOCK position and all electrical loads must be OFF, unless instructed otherwise in these procedures. If a tool or equipment could easily come in contact with a live exposed electrical terminal, also disconnect the negative battery cable. Failure to follow these precautions may cause personal injury and/or damage to the vehicle or its components.

  1. Disconnect the battery negative cable.
  2. Remove the left closeout insulator panel. Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Left Side in Instrument Panel, Gauges, and Console.

  3. Object Number: 883  Size: SH
  4. Disconnect the electrical connector from the stoplamp switch.

  5. Object Number: 344875  Size: SH
  6. Remove the pushrod retainer from the brake pedal pin.

  7. Object Number: 344886  Size: SH
  8. Remove the stoplamp switch. Unsnap the switch from the brake pedal pin.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 344886  Size: SH
  1. Install the stoplamp switch on the brake pedal pin. The switch will snap in place.

  2. Object Number: 344875  Size: SH
  3. Install the pushrod retainer on the brake pedal pin. The retainer will snap into place.

  4. Object Number: 883  Size: SH
  5. Install the electrical connector on the stoplamp switch.
  6. Install the left closeout insulator panel. Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Left Side in Instrument Panel, Gauges, and Console.
  7. Connect the battery negative cable.
