Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 292138 Size: SH
  1. Remove the left side sound insulator. Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Left Side in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.
  2. Remove the knee bolster . Refer to Knee Bolster Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.
  3. Remove the Instrument Panel Module (IPM). Refer to Instrument Panel Module Replacement in Body Control System.
  4. Remove the electrical connector from the left air temperature actuator.
  5. Remove the left air temperature actuator retaining screws (1).

  6. Remove the left air temperature actuator.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 292133 Size: SH
  1. Install the left air temperature actuator.

    2. Object Number: 292138 Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  2. Install the left air temperature actuator retaining screws (1).

    3. Tighten
    Tighten the screws to 1.4 N·m (12 lb in).

  3. Install the electrical connector to the left air temperature actuator.
  4. Install the IPM. Refer to Instrument Panel Module Replacement in Body Control System.
  5. Install the knee bolster . Refer to Knee Bolster Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.
  6. Install the left closeout panel. Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Left Side in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.
  7. Recalibrate the actuators. Refer to Actuator Recalibration in Body Controls System.
