Removal Procedure

    Caution: Refer to SIR Caution in the Preface section.

  1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling in SIR.

  2. Object Number: 441993  Size: SH
  3. Remove the mounting screw (1) from the multifunction switch (2).

  4. Object Number: 442014  Size: SH
  5. Remove the multifunction switch (1) from the column (2).
  6. Disconnect the electrical connectors (3) from the multifunction switch (1).

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 442014  Size: SH
  1. Connect the electrical connectors to the multifunction switch (1).
  2. Position the multifunction switch (1) on the steering column (2) while depressing the spring loaded horn pin.

  3. Object Number: 441993  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  4. Install the mounting screw (1) to the multifunction switch (2).
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the screw to 4 N·m (35 lb in).

  6. Enable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling in SIR.
  7. Verify that the multifunction switch works properly.
