Removal Procedure

    Notice: When removing body panels, apply tape to corners of panel and adjacent surfaces to help prevent paint damage.

  1. Open the hood.
  2. Tape the corners of the fender and adjacent panels in order to protect the fender from paint damage.
  3. Remove the hood hinge. Refer to Hood Hinge Replacement .
  4. Remove the front fender liner. Refer to Front Fender Liner Replacement .
  5. Remove the front bumper fascia from the front fender. Refer to Front Bumper Fascia Replacement .
  6. Remove the rocker panel molding. Refer to Rocker Panel Molding Replacement in Exterior Trim.

  8. Remove the front fender rear brace bolt.

  9. Object Number: 598595  Size: SH
  10. Remove the front fender rear bracket bolt from the fender.

  11. Object Number: 598596  Size: SH
  12. Remove the front fender front brace bolt from the body.

  13. Object Number: 330087  Size: SH
  14. Remove the front fender lower bolts.

  15. Object Number: 330090  Size: SH
  16. Remove the front fender upper bolts.
  17. Remove the front fender from the vehicle.
  18. Remove the body side molding, if required. Refer to Rocker Panel Molding Replacement .

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 330090  Size: SH
  1. Position the front fender to the vehicle.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the front fender upper bolts.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the front fender upper bolts to 9 N·m (80 lb in).

  5. Install the front fender lower bolts.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the front fender lower bolts to 9 N·m (80 lb in).

  7. Install the front fender front brace bolt to the body.
  8. Tighten
    Tighten the front fender front brace bolt to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  9. Install the front fender rear center bracket to the front fender bolt.
  10. Tighten
    Tighten the front fender rear center bracket to the front fender bolt to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  11. Install the front fender rear brace bolt.
  12. Tighten
    Tighten the front fender rear brace bolt to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  13. Install the rocker panel molding. Refer to Rocker Panel Molding Replacement in Exterior Trim.
  14. Install the bumper fascia to the front fender. Refer to Front Bumper Fascia Replacement .
  15. Install the front fender liner. Refer to Front Fender Liner Replacement .
  16. Install the hood hinge. Refer to Hood Hinge Replacement .
  17. Remove the tape from the edges of the fender.
  18. Close the hood.
