Removal Procedure

    Important: Place the lumbar support in the full release position in order to remove the cable without the aid of an assistant.

  1. Remove the front bucket seat from the vehicle. Refer to Front Seat Replacement - Bucket .
  2. Adjust the seat back cover in order to gain access to the lumbar support plate. Refer to Front Seat Back Cushion Cover Replacement .

  3. Object Number: 798773  Size: SH
  4. Compress the lumbar support by pushing down on the plate.
  5. Route the cable end over and out of the opening in the lumbar support plate.

  6. Object Number: 740540  Size: SH
  7. With a small flat-bladed tool, release the retainers for the lumbar support knob.
  8. Remove the lumbar support knob from the actuator.

  10. Adjust the seat cushion cover in order to gain access to the lumbar support cable and the actuator. Refer to Front Seat Cushion Cover Replacement .
  11. Remove the screws from the lumbar support actuator.

  13. Remove the lumbar support cable from the seat cushion frame.

  14. Object Number: 740535  Size: SH
  15. Remove the lumbar support cable and the actuator from the seat cushion frame.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the lumbar support cable and the actuator to the seat cushion frame.

  2. Object Number: 740554  Size: SH
  3. Install the lumbar support cable to the seat cushion frame.

  4. Object Number: 740552  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  5. Install the lumbar support actuator screws.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the screws to 3 N·m (27 lb in).

  7. Compress the lumbar support by pushing down on the plate.
  8. Route the cable end through the opening and over the lumbar support plate.
  9. Adjust the seat cushion cover. Refer to Front Seat Cushion Cover Replacement .
  10. Adjust the seat back cover to a desired appearance. Refer to Front Seat Back Cushion Cover Replacement .

  12. Align the lumbar support knob with the splines on the actuator.
  13. Press down on the lumbar support knob until the knob is fully seated.
  14. Install the front bucket seat in the vehicle. Refer to Front Seat Replacement - Bucket .
