Seat Belt Retractor Replacement - Left Front Coupe

1. Remove the lower quarter trim panel. Refer to Rear Quarter Lower Trim Panel Replacement in Interior Trim.



2. Remove the front seat shoulder belt guide cover.
3. Remove the front seat shoulder belt guide bolt.
4. Remove the front seat shoulder belt guide.



5. Remove the front seat belt anchor bolt.



6. Remove the front seat belt retractor bolt.
7. Pull upward on the retractor in order to disengage the retractor.



8. Remove the front seat belt retractor assembly from the vehicle.

Important: Remove any twists in the seat belt webbing before final assembly.

1. Install the seat belt retractor assembly to the vehicle.



2. Insert the top of the retractor into the mounting slots and pull the retractor downward in order to install the retractor.

Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

3. Install the front seat belt retractor bolt.

Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 42 N·m (31 lb ft).




4. Install the front seat belt anchor bolt.

Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 42 N·m (31 lb ft).




5. Install the front seat shoulder belt guide to the vehicle.
6. Install the front seat shoulder belt guide bolt.

Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 42 N·m (31 lb ft).

7. Install the front seat shoulder belt guide cover. Ensure that the unit is retained.
8. Inspect the seat belt assembly for correct operation. Refer to Operational and Functional Checks .
9. Install the lower quarter trim panel. Refer to Rear Quarter Lower Trim Panel Replacement in Interior Trim.

Seat Belt Retractor Replacement - Left Front Sedan

1. Remove the center pillar lower trim panel. Refer to Center Pillar Lower Trim Panel Replacement in Interior Trim.



2. Remove the front seat belt anchor bolt.



3. Remove the front seat shoulder belt guide cover.
4. Remove the front seat shoulder belt guide bolt.
5. Remove the front seat shoulder belt guide from the vehicle.



6. Remove the front seat belt guide clip. Squeeze the guide clip from both sides in order to release the retainers.



7. Remove the front seat belt retractor bolt.
8. Pull the retractor upward in order to disengage the retractor.



9. Remove the front seat belt retractor assembly from the vehicle.

Important: Remove any twists in the seat belt webbing before final assembly.

1. Install the front seat belt retractor assembly to the vehicle.

Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 42 N·m (31 lb ft).




4. Install the front seat belt guide clip. Ensure the unit locks into position.



5. Install the front seat shoulder belt guide to the vehicle.
6. Install the front seat shoulder belt guide bolt.

Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 42 N·m (31 lb ft).

7. Inspect the front seat shoulder belt guide cover for broken tabs. Replace the cover if the tabs are broken.
8. Install the front seat shoulder belt guide cover.
9. Install the center pillar lower trim panel. Refer to Center Pillar Lower Trim Panel Replacement in Interior Trim.



10. Install the front seat belt anchor bolt.

Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 42 N·m (31 lb ft).

11. Inspect the seat belt assembly for correct operation. Refer to Operational and Functional Checks .
