Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Left Side Outboard

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 291459  Size: SH
  1. Remove the retainers (2) from the instrument panel (IP).
  2. Remove the outboard IP insulator (1).

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 291459  Size: SH
  1. Install the outboard IP insulator (1).
  2. Install the retainers (2).

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 291459  Size: SH
  1. Remove the retainers (2) from the outboard instrument panel (IP) insulator.
  2. Remove the outboard IP insulators.

  3. Object Number: 778394  Size: SH
  4. Remove the IP insulator screws.
  5. Slide the IP insulator from the HVAC module. Disconnect the defroster duct from the IP insulator.
  6. Remove the inboard IP insulator.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 778394  Size: SH
  1. Position the inboard IP insulator to the lower IP.
  2. Connect the defroster duct to the IP insulator. Slide the IP insulator to the HVAC module.
  3. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

    Important: Place the shift interlock cable in the notch when you install the screw to the HVAC module.

  4. Install the IP insulator screws.
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the screws to 2 N·m (18 lb in).

  6. Install the outboard IP insulator.
  7. Install the outboard IP insulator retainers (2).
